The Meaning of Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is coming up – but why do we celebrate Mother’s Day? What does a Mother mean to you?
There is nothing that compares to a mothers love, a mothers touch and a mothers warmth. I grew up in an Asian family – although, my mum was never quite the traditional Chinese type either. If I told you that her hobbies included yoga, sailing on Fridays, swimming and taking extended travel overseas by herself, you would have never guessed that she was born in Shanghai. This is not to say that her hobbies define who she associates with culturally, however what she taught me was to live, love, laugh. She lives her life the way she wants and embodies everything about freedom, independence but above all, loving everyone and finding joy through everything.
From the moment I was born, I was my mum’s biggest love and treasure (her words not mine). Her actions did prove that statement though, she’s been there for me when I was sad, happy, angry, lonely. Raised me as a single mother with a smile on her face every day. She’s someone who’s always believed in me and wanted nothing but the best for me. She genuinely wants me to be happy, and encourages me to pursue whatever that path to happiness looks like. I am certain that you, who are reading this, can think of a time when your mum stood by your side when you needed her most and gave you unconditional love.
Mother’s Day is one of my favourite days of the year. Mother’s Day is a celebration and serves as a reminder for all the superwomen out there. A day to honour all the mother’s, the maternal bonds, and the mothers in society – work mums included! Sometimes, as ungrateful kids we forget the love, sacrifice and efforts our mothers have put in. Mother’s Day is a special time of year for us to return the favour and give thanks, show them our appreciation as such significant figures in our life.
I’m so lucky I get to work in a dessert box business where we bring the best of both worlds, love and happiness, delicious meeting guilt free. For this Mother’s Day, I was inspired by my mum’s favourite flowers, Australian Native Flowers – another curveball. We pair these beautiful native flowers with our delicious pronut bouquet, an assortment of scrumptious flavours like the Golden Gaytime, Berry, Snickers and Caramel Swirl. If your mum is anything like mine, she’ll have a sweet tooth but enjoy a guilt free twist. Our pronuts are made with 100% raw ingredients, natural, premium ingredients. Hand made to perfection to guarantee the element of TLC.
Our Mother’s Day box is a gift for all the supermums, the power ladies in your lives, where they’ll get to enjoy long lasting Native Flowers with Sydney’s yummiest snacks for her to indulge or maybe just enjoy during tea time.
Xoxo Love you mama bears.
